Like thousands of other pioneers, you have a treacherous journey across the plains and mountains of the continent to California. As you know, there are dangers on the trail that can ruin your plans: stampeding buffalo, broken equipment, bad weather, bandits, disease, and much more. The more you know, the better your chances. Your success on the California Trail will hinge on the knowledge you have and the decisions you make. If you know what you are supposed to know, and buy the right supplies, and the right amount of supplies, you may experience smooth sailing straight into the Golden State. If your knowledge is faulty, however, you'll come face-to-face with the dangers above.
