| Through the years, however, more and more people came to live in Kentucky. Mammoth Cave was discovered again, and made into a national park! In 1976, a teacher from Fairview County, Virginia was exploring in Kentucky’s Mammoth Cave National Park. He was happily marveling at the stalactites, stalagmites, and unusual twisted shapes rising and falling from the caverns, when he tripped over something and fell crashing through an opening, beneath the site of the narrow paths above. |
