What is an Example of a Savanna?

Located in the Mara region of Tanzania, The Serengeti Plain is one of the oldest ecosystems on earth. The savanna occupies the southern half of the Serengeti Preserve, and features three different kids of grasslands: short grass plains, intermediate grass plains, and long grass plains. The Serengeti Plain is most famous for its vast migration of herbivores. Over one million wildebeest and two hundred thousand zebras migrate south during the early fall to take advantage of the rains. The preserve is also home to numerous lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, and crocodiles.
