Read the passage and answer the questions.

Every February 2nd, America turns its attention to a tiny town in Pennsylvania called Punxsutawney. It’s here, where the famous groundhog Punxsutawney Phil predicts the future. It all hinges on his shadow. If Phil comes out of his burrow and does not see his shadow, spring will come early. If he does see his shadow, however, there will be six more weeks of winter.

Thousands of people come to Punxsutawney each year in February to see for themselves what Phil predicts. Despite Phil’s popularity, history has proven him to be somewhat of a failure in his predictions. In the 103 years that Phil has been predicting the future, his prediction comes true less than 40 percent of the time.
