Rosa Parks was a famous African-American woman in American history. In 1955, she to give up her seat to a White American on a public bus in Montgomery, Alabama. In 1955, things were unfair for African-Americans. African-Americans did not have the same as White Americans or the same rights as White-Americans. Believe it or not, Rosa Parks broke the law by refusing to give up her seat to a White Americas. She was arrested! Rosa's story made a lot of people angry. Led by Martin Luther King, Jr., the African-American community joined and refused to ride the city buses. This is called a boycott. This boycott over a year. Since most of the riders African-Americans, the bus companies lost a lot of money and law was changed. For her , Rosa Parks will be remembered forever. She is called "The first lady of freedom."
