Mt. Rainier National Park

 
 

Mount Rainier National Park features Mt. Rainier, a 14,410 foot active volcano covered in over 35 square miles of ice and snow. It last erupted about 2,000 years ago.Visible from downtown Seattle, it is the tallest mountain in Washington, and the tallest in the Cascades Range. The park also contains beautiful alpine meadows and old-growth forests. The area is frequented by skiiers, hikers, photographers, and regular people who come to experience the majesty of Mt. Rainier, or to admire the gorgeous wildflowers that grow in the meadows.
