Mesa Verde National Park

Mesa Verde National Park, located in southwestern Colorado, features unparalleled views into pre-colonization America. From 600 AD to 1300 AD, the park was home to Ancient Puebloan people who built cliff dwellings (houses built into shallow caves in the canyon walls). One of the dwellings, named Cliff Palace, is the largest cliff dwelling in North America. It contains about 150 rooms, which indicates it was home to between 100-120 people.
