Isle Royale National Park

Isle Royale National Park, located on Isle Royale, the largest island in Lake Superior, is truly the picture of the cold, north woods. Accessible only by boat or float-plane, the park features outstanding fishing, historic lighthouses, abandoned copper mines, and numerous shipwrecks. The island’s populations of wolves and moose has been the center of scientific research studies on the nature of predator-prey relationships. The relationship between the two kinds of animals is unique in that it is the only place in America where moose and wolves interact without the presence of bears.
