Haleakala National Park

 
 

Haleakala National Park, located on the island of Maui, features the famous and massive Haleakala Crater. The crater is 2,600 feet deep, and 7 miles across! The park is known for its spectacular volcanic scenery, amazing sunsets, and unusually clear views of the night sky. The Kipahulu portion of the park preserves rare Hawaiian ecosystems and is known for its 15 pools that provide habitat for rare Hawaiian freshwater fish.
