Great Basin National Park

Great Basin National Park, located in eastern Nevada, highlights the area known as the Great Basin, a dry, mountainous region between the Sierra Nevada and Rocky Mountains. The park is best known for its collection of bristlecone pines – twisted looking evergreens that are the oldest known living things on the planet. Some maybe more than 4,000 years old! One, cut down in 1964, was proven to be nearly 5,000 years old.
