Death Valley National Park

Death Valley National Park, located in eastern California, is one of the most arid places on earth. It also contains the second lowest point in the western hemisphere (282 feet below sea level). Summer temperatures average well over 100 degrees, and the region receives a little less than two inches of rain per year. The park, however, also features incredible sand dunes, colorful badlands, rocky canyons, and hearty animals that have adapted to the harsh climate.
