Cuyahoga Valley National Park

Located in eastern Ohio, just miles away from the Cleveland and Akron, Cuyahoga Valley National Park is one of our newest national parks. Featuring flood plains, valleys, and lush forests along the Cuyahoga River, the park is probably best known for the remnants of the Ohio & Erie Canal, which served ss a shipping channel from Cleveland to Akron in the 1800’s. Though dysfunctional by 1900, the canal was responsible for an incredible business boom and population explosion in Ohio.
