Word Search Maker allows students to create their own words searches to be completed online! See the pictures below for a full explanation.
In step one of word search makers, students can choose various options in which to position words. For example, they can type a word and determine if it will appear horizontally, vertically or diagonally in the puzzle. It is recommended, however, that students choose "randomize all" to expedite the process and avoid confusion. Simply click on "randomize all" and then begin entering words. Type the desired word in the field above and then click "insert." The word will then appear in the field on the right. Repeat this process for up to 25 words. Because of the size limitations of the word search, some words may not fit. In the event the word does not fit in the search, a message will appear instructing the user to choose another word. When all of the words have been inserted, click on "show" and the word search is created.
When you see one of your words on the word search, click on one letter at a time in the order in which it is spelled. When you have clicked on every letter in the word, the word will turn maroon and will eliminated from the "words not found" list. It is important to note that you will not get credit for the word if the letters are not clicked in the order they were originally spelled when inserted into the puzzle. When all words have been found and clicked, the word search has been solved!
