ce Cream Graphing is a new graphing program on MrNussbaum.com, designed as an introduction to graphing for students in grades 1-3. The object is to construct a pie chart and bar graph based on specific ice cream orders. See the pictures below for more details.
Kids at a local ice cream parlor make the following orders: 5 kids order chocolate chip sandwiches, 2 order rocket pops, 3 order sugar-flavored ice cream, and 0 order Chocolate Tofu. These values change every time the game is played. The next step is to identify these orders when presented with a pie chart.
Here, the student is presented with a pie chart that represents the order, but what section of the pie chart matches each order? Students can drag the items to the correct portions of the pie chart. Please note these graphs can be printed by clicking "print." When the student is done, he or she should click "done."
Finally,
the user must construct a bar graph based on the orders. He or she
should simply drag the square cubes to the fields above each item
until the bars match the number of each item ordered.
