Description: The Blue Hen Chicken, native to southeast Asia, was made state bird of Delaware in 1935. It has been a popular icon since it was used in cock fights during the Revolutionary War era.

The Blue Hen Chicken is a colorful bird. It has a slate-gray body, a featherless red face, a small reddish crest, and long legs. Blue Hen Chickens have a hierarchical social system. One male (cock) normally dominates all of the other chickens.

Diet: Grains

Range: Domesticated. They live on farms throughout the United States.
